Jay Criddle

My name is Mr. Jay (or this is what the children call me). I am co-owner of The Children’s Academy. I grew up in West Point, Mississippi where my mom, Betty Criddle retired Bryan Food as a Human Resource employee, she is currenlty living with my sister in Flowood. I lost my father in 1986 due to cancer. I have one sister who lives in Flowood, and she has two daughters. I graduated from The University of Mississippi in 1996 with a degree in Marketing. I worked within my field until becoming co-owner of The Children’s Academy in October 2007. I am the proud father of two children: Colby and Carli Grace.I have many hobbies (or so my wife says): playing tennis and golf, hunting, fishing and watching any sporting event… especially if it’s Ole Miss. Yes, I am a huge Ole Miss fan, and I am also a huge fan of children. I am having so much fun at The Children’s Academy. Nothing is more rewarding than being a part of a child’s life. Yes, I have two of my own, but I have over 100 that I can be proud of.

Andrea Criddle

Hi. I am Andrea, the other co-owner of The Children’s Academy and Jay’s better half… ha ha. I grew up traveling around the world as an Army Brat. My father served 23 years in the Army, and he is from West Virginia. My mom, an Army Brat herself, is from Kosciusko. My parents live in the Gluckstadt area and now both retired from the Federal Government assisting Veterans. I have one brother, Chris. He has two children and is currently employed by Veterans Affairs, also assisting Veterans. I attended Hinds Community College and Mississippi State University. I earned my Mississippi Childcare Director’s License in May of 2008. I was employed with Cellular South for 9 years as a Product Manager in the Marketing Department before opening Children’s Academy in August of 2006. I stay very busy being a wife, mom, and business owner. I am very blessed to have such a wonderful family. I am also blessed to be full-filling a lifelong dream of being a child care owner. I love everything about children: the funny faces they make, the way they talk, walk, laugh, cry and love you unconditionally. We have over 100 children at The Children’s Academy, and I couldn’t ask for a better life.

John 14:27 - Behold, children are a blessing from the Lord.
